All
solar geysers are equipped with absorbers and storage tanks. The
water is heated in the absorber and then stored in a separate storage
tank. The Tapison system is the only one currently available
in the market in which these two components are actually
integrated: The absorber serves as the storage tank as well.
It consists of three components:
1. The "heat tank": A re-enforced 102x50x10 cub.cm. aluminium tank
which serves as both absorber and storage tank.
The tank is made from 1.5 mm. aluminium sheets.
The side exposed to the sun is painted black for
maximum absorption of heat.
2. A container box , 108x58x19 cub. cm. of UV protected white PVC
board (8mm. thick) into which the heat tank is
fitted. The side exposed to the sun is covered
with 3 mm. high-impact polycarbonate (in heavy
hail risk areas) or 5 mm. glass (in hail risk free
areas).
3. A header tank, which is fitted onto a little platform attached
to the top end of the system. This tank contains
a valve which controls the water feed from the
main supply and supplies water to the heat tank.
NOTE: The header tank can be placed anywhere, as long as its
bottom is higher than the top of the heat tank.
